Raja Singh appears before the PD Act Review Committee
The three-member review committee reserved its judgement after Raja Singh's wife presented counter-arguments.

HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh appeared via video conference before the PD act review committee on Thursday from Cherlapally Central Prison and submitted his arguments against invoking the PD Act. His wife, Usha Bai, also filed a written counter-complaint with the committee, challenging the PD Act.

Raja Singh was arrested by Hyderabad City Police on August 25, 2022. He has 101 complaints filed against him since 2004 and 18 of them are for communal offences. He has been charged under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act.
The MLA was arrested by the Hyderabad police from his house in Mangalhat amid a wave of protests against him over his alleged controversial remarks against Prophet Muhammad. The BJP legislator was charged by the Hyderabad police with frequent inflammatory and provocative comments, attempts to create a divide between communities and causing public disorder.
