HYDERABAD: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Revanth Reddy on Monday urged people of Hyderabad to walk along former AICC chief and MP Rahul Gandhi in his 'Bharat Jodo Yatra.'

In an open letter, Revanth Reddy said, "Setting aside our political beliefs, let us all come together and walk for at least one km and demonstrate national unity." The Yatra is set to enter Hyderabad on November 1. The Hyderabad leg of the yatra is scheduled to begin from Charminar at 3 pm and reach Necklace Road at 5 pm. Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting there.

The TPCC president said that the BJP had adopted the British policy of divide and rule. "Under BJP governance, 22 crore youths have been debilitated without employment or livelihood. Oil prices are sky-rocketing and our country has fallen to the 107th position in the hunger index," said Revanth Reddy. He alleged that the TRS had backed the BJP's anarchy. "TRS even supported the Union government's black farm laws. He accused the TRS of resorting to massive corruption in Mission Bhagiratha and Kaleshwaram projects.

Revanth Reddy further said that the Congress had been instrumental in Hyderabad's meteoric rise in the fields of Information Technology and Biotechnology. "Rahul Gandhi has started the 'Bharath Jodo Yatra' to unify the length and breadth of the country," said Reddy. The yatra started at Kanyakumari on September 7 and entered Telangana on October 23.
