Uppal junction elevated walkway to be completed by year-end

HYDERABAD: Under the Telangana Government's Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP), a loop type elevated walkway being constructed at the Uppal Junction is expected to be fully constructed by December 2022.
The centrally supported walkway would benefit pedestrians to access the metro station in a much quicker and safer manner. It is integrated with the Uppal metro station concourse level, bus stops and commercial and residential building on the other.
The 640-metre walkway cost about Rs 25 crore. It would have a 3-m, 4-m width and 6-m width at a few stretches. The overall height of the walkway would be 9.25-m with its column and decks having steel structure for support. It would have a roof to make the walk comfortable for pedestrians.
The walkway would have six hop-on stations for entry and exit with eight lifts and 12 staircases.
