HYDERABAD: Millennial political party Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has attained adulthood. Now it has emerged as a national party on the Indian political arena.

Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, a frail man with an iron will and steel resolve, pulled the plug from his political alma mater, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), disgusted by the vexatious behaviour of the leadership. When he quit the post of Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, little did anyone expect nor did anyone dare say KCR would become a formidable force to reckon with in Indian politics. So, what? He has always been unfettered and unfazed by negative forces and naysayers.

Until the advent of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at the beginning of the new millennium on April 27, 2001, he was Chandrashekar to close associates and friends and Chandrashekar Rao to a lot of others, has evolved as a commanding voice and catapulted to an enviable pole position as KCR, the torchbearer of the cause of a separate Telangana.

The TRS began the major electoral babysteps, holding the little finger of the Grand Old Party, the Congress, in 2004 general elections to the Lok Sabha and Assembly. He demonstrated his ire in its fullest magnitude when he felt ditched by the Congress and walked out of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and chose to be a crusader rather than to kowtow someone else's political line.

He dabbled with Communists and the TDP only to be disappointed at the end of the electioneering in 2009 and surprised all by appearing on the dais of a public meeting of the BJP. The camaraderie with the right wing BJP too was short lived. He began to tread the tried, tested and trusted difficult path of going it alone. Upon his aspiration bearing the fruit and the Congress leadership announcing the formation of a separate Telangana, the leader of the agitation sought to gracefully demonstrate his gratitude and put the future of the TRS at the altar of the Congress. For, he had promised that he would merge the TRS with the grand old party. But the pettiness shown by the Congress high command angered the revolutionary leader, who had girded up his loins to prove that he's also the best administrator of the State.

KCR led his party to victory in the maiden elections. After showing marked difference beyond doubts and winning laurels from all over the world, KCR has emerged as the darling of masses in Telangana.

KCR, who has maintained utmost cordiality with the BJP at the Centre, for a long time, however, began his efforts to enter national politics by cobbling up a Federal Front only after he conclusively understood the parochial politics of the BJP. After a series of meetings with many leaders of numerous states and regional satraps, and national leaders, over the last five years.

Alongside understanding their political orientation and ideology, KCR has also realised who can stand firm and who may totter on their respective political stands. KCR is indeed clearheaded.

An epitome of 'glamour of performance' this tall Telangana strongman, KCR has decided to lead from the infantry in his war against the ills plaguing the country and set an example on how to be there and do that.

After attaining the age of 21, the TRS, who as a toddler considering merging with the Congress, has arrived as a national party. KCR knows what is a national party, it's definition as enshrined in the Representation of People Act, 1951 unlike the puny political parties that claim to be "national" in names and subregional in nature. KCR will work for fitting in that definition first, become a force to reckon with next, before going for the kill.
