Apollo’s Sangita campaigns for husband Konda Vishweshwar Reddy in MyHome, NCC
Dr Sangita Reddy hosted a voter awareness event for more than 300 residents of My Home Vihanga and NCC Urban Gardenia in Financial District.
HYDERABAD: With a proactive approach to reverse urban voter apathy, a voter awareness campaign was organised by Chevella BJP MP candidate Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and his family. Dr Sangita Reddy, wife of Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and joint managing director of Apollo Hospitals, along with family members hosted a voter awareness event for more than 300 residents of My Home Vihanga and NCC Urban Gardenia in Financial District.
Highlighting the bad polling percentage in urban areas, Dr Sangita Reddy said, “Voting spirit should be increased among the citizens. People are coming in floods and casting their votes in the villages but in towns and cities, the polling percentage is limited. We have the right to question only if we vote. Regardless of the need of any state in the country, regardless of whether it is a BJP Government, a Congress Government or any other party Government, Prime Minister Modi is looking at all the states equally with the sole intention that all the people are our countrymen. If we want to re-elect such a noble Prime Minister, we should all go out and vote. We also have the right to question only if we cast our votes. So, go to the polling stations on May 13 with enthusiasm and cast your votes."
Speaking on the occasion, some of the members of My Vihanga Committee said, "Usually we stay far away from politics. But, like the late freedom fighter Konda Venkata Reddy, Konda Vishweswar Reddy is fighting for our development. There are very few people like this in today's politics. Besides, being an educated person, an industrialist, and an entrepreneur, he has a great vision for the youth. It is necessary for such people to enter politics.”
Although May 13 is a Monday, the residents promised to come out and vote to increase the voting percentage in the urban areas. The turnout for the meetings at gated communities indicates that with a little effort we can engage urban voters to come out and vote.
The campaign reflects the PM’s Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas slogan and comes as an extension of Chevella BJP MP candidate Konda Vishweshwar Reddy’s Praja Ashirwad Yatra in Chevella.
By contacting the urban voters and connecting with them is the only way through which urban voters will exercise their right to vote for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is inevitable and help the country achieve true meaning of democracy.
