SIRCILLA: Can Rahul Gandhi or Narendra Modi show the same love for Telangana as KCR asked Telangana working president KT Rama Rao on Friday.

Addressing a public meeting in Sircilla, KTR said, “One Congress leader asks why all the development took place only in Sircilla, while another Congress leader who is contesting against me in Sircilla says I did not do any development in Sircilla. He added that ultimately it's the people of Sircilla and Telangana who will give the final judgment.

Attacking the Congress party, KTR said in 1956 Congress forcefully united Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, in 1968 Congress killed 370 students during the Telangana statehood movement, and in 1971 forcefully took 11 parliamentarians from Telangana Praja Samithi into Congress to dilute the Telangana movement and kill the aspirations of the people of Telangana.

KTR said that in 2004 once again Congress had promised to support Telangana Statehood but waited for 10 years until 2014 when the agitation was intensified by the students, youth, and martyrs of Telangana. He added that Congress gave Telangana not out of respect, but by force.

KTR said that the Congress was in power for 55 years but couldn’t give water, current, educational institutions, welfare schemes, and irrigation projects but today they are again asking for one more chance.

KTR said that it was KCR on one side and on the other side it was the TPCC Chief, a criminal who was caught red-handedly in the vote for note case.

Mocking Bandi Sanjay, KTR said he doesn't know anything apart from the days of the week. Referring to Bandi Sanjay’s statement on comparing Prime Minister Modi with God, KTR, in a sarcastic tone, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a God who increased cylinder prices from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1,200, petrol prices from Rs. 70 to Rs. 110, and ensured skyrocketing prices of other essential goods. “BJP has four MPs in Telangana but did nothing for the State,” he said.

He also highlighted the failed promises of Modi and the latter couldn’t double farmers' income, bring back black money, and give Rs 15 lakh into the Jan Dhan accounts.

In the meeting, KTR appealed to the youth of Sircilla to effectively use social media to highlight the development that took place in Sircilla in the past few years. He asked the youngsters to use features like reels and stories to show the transformation of roads in Sircilla, Ambedkar Junction, Gandhi Junction, Neethane Junction, new educational institutions, and the lush green fields and water streams.

He recalled the miserable condition of weavers in Sircilla during Congress rule and said that he saw wall messages appealing to the weavers not to commit suicide. From such a situation till now, Sircilla has strongly evolved under the BRS government, he added. “Everyone should know how Sircilla was in congress governance and how it transformed under CM KCR’s leadership,” said KTR.

KTR said that no one could have thought Sircilla would become a district headquarters, and educational institutions like Govt Medical College, JNTU Engg. College, Prof. Jayashankar Agriculture University, nursing college or a polytechnic college, and KG to PG campus would come up here.

Talking about the employment generation, KTR highlighted that the BRS Govt had set up an aqua hub, a food processing hub, and also an apparel park which creates 25,000 employment opportunities in the region.

He also added that the ‘worker to owner’ program was initiated for the upliftment of the weavers community. “Congress and BJP cannot see the development here. But the people of Sircilla know what good I have done in the region,” KTR said.

“The future of Sircilla is in your hands. Think wisely and vote,” concluded KT Rama Rao.
