ICC World Cup 2023: Rachakonda police issues traffic advisory

HYDERABAD: Rachakonda Commissionerate's Traffic police have developed a comprehensive traffic management plan for Men's ICC ODI World Cup - 2023 Cricket's three matches at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.

The traffic management plan comprises eight sectors around the stadium, including parking, main roads, stadium roads, and contingency diversions for general traffic.

A total of about 250 traffic personnel would be deployed on match days to implement this traffic management plan to ensure proper regulation of general traffic and stadium spectators.

About 18 parking spots were arranged for 4 Wheelers and 2 Wheelers during the match days from October 6 to October 10, 2023.

Signages and Directional Boards

A number of signs and direction boards would be placed along the routes to the parking places and venue. The spectators were advised to look for the important Master Directional Boards and Location Map for Parking and Venue at Uppal X Roads, Street No. 8 Junction, Habsiguda Junction, Ek-Minar Masjid, and a few other locations.

A total of 38 distance alert display boards were also being installed along the paths to parking locations. About 323 signage/informative boards were being installed at the Uppal stadium.

Suggestions for Men's ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Spectators

• Rachakonda police has appealed to the individuals to cooperate with the traffic police personnel on duty and follow their instructions.
• Parking is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Ensure to arrive early to secure your vehicle at the nearest available spot.
• Traffic Police Rachakonda will provide traffic updates to Red Mirchi, and spectators can tune in to the Red Mirchi FM Channel for further information.
• Spectators are suggested to opt for Metro Rail services for quicker venue access, as the Pedestrian Entry to the Stadium is conveniently located just meters away.

Advisory for General Traffic

• The general movement of traffic will not be subject to any restrictions.
• To avoid the Uppal X Road to Genpact stretch, commuters can take a diversion towards Ramanthapur road and at Street No.8 Signal, take Street No.8 road to Habsiguda junction

Heavy Vehicle Diversions

• The diversion of certain heavy vehicle categories on October 6, 9, and 10, 2023, will be from 12:30pm to 11:30pm.
