KTR gives credit to YSR for free power; says Telangana Congress is managed by Chandrababu

JAGTIAL: Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) came down heavily on Telangana Congress on Sunday in the wake of comments made by its chief Revanth Reddy that farmers don't need power for more than three hours. Speaking in Jagtial after attending the memorial service of BRS MLC Ramana, KTR said that the present Congress party was governed by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief Chandrababu Naidu's Congress and the president of that party, Revanth Reddy, who was earlier with the TDP, was working on his command.

"When Rajasekhar Reddy was the Chief Minister (of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh), he introduced the concept of free electricity power. But today, does that Congress exist? Today in Telangana, what exists is Chandrababu Naidu's Congress. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy took that old Congress away to Andhra Pradesh and is continuing the legacy of Rajasekahar through YSRCP. What exists in Telangana now is not the original Congress party.

"Chandrababu Naidu didn't care about farmers when he was in power. Similarly, his disciple, Revanth is acting like him and is insulting farmers that they only require three hours of power.

"Revanth Reddy has also worked in ABVP and RSS and now he s working like Godse in Gandhi Bhavan (Congress party office)," KTR said.

The Minister then challenged Congress if it was ready to seek votes from famers on a one-sentence agenda of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao by giving electricity for 24-hours a day.

"Do you want BRS party's development or Congress' anarchy. It is regrettable that Congress party seniors have not yet responded to Revanth Reddy’s comments on free electricity. If three crops are the slogan of BRS, three hours is the policy of the Congress party," he said.

Questioning what the Congress was doing where it was in power in other states, KTR said, "KCR developed Telangana from all angles. He brought a revolutionary scheme like Rythu Bandhu into the country. Does any other State in the country give free 24-hour electricity to farmers like Telangana?"

Criticising Rahul Gandhi for his recent speech in Khammam where he alleged corruption by BRS government, KTR said, "Rahul Gandhi is not a leader, he is a reader. He will only read the script given by the Congress leaders here and he was no knowledge about Telangana."

The BRS working president said that Revanth’s comments on cancellation of 24-hours supply of electricity would be condemned in the farmers’ forums for the next 10 days beginning on Monday and resolutions would be passed against Revanth Reddy.
