Mynampally, son Rohith to officially join Congress before September 27

HYDERABAD: The stage is all set for former BRS leader Mynampally Hanumantha Rao to join the Congress before September 27.

Addressing reporters at his residence after meeting a top Congress delegation, which included former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha and former Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Goud, the rebel MLA said he would join the party before Wednesday.
According to sources, Mynampally would join Congress along with his son Rohith in the presence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi. The former BRS leader had been vocal about contesting from Malkajgiri seat and giving Medak seat for this son. It is reported that the Congress is mulling to accede to that demand.
Along with Mynampally, four other BRS corporators are also going to join the Congress.
Hanumantha Rao had ann0ounced quitting the BRS on September 23. He released a video to announce his decision to leave the party.
Mynampally was a TDP leader and who got elected as MLA from Ramayampet in 2008 and Medak in 2009. He had joined the BRS before the 2018 elections and was elected as MLA from Malkajgiri.
