HYDERABAD: Apple Inc., which is preparing to open its first Apple store in India, is on a hiring spree across the country. The new jobs at Apple board were updated on Monday with a selection of appointments labelled as being under Apple Retail.
The positions range from Store leader and Senior Manager to more specialist roles like Business Pro and Operations Expert, as well as the well-known Genius function.
According to the reports, at least five employees in Mumbai and New Delhi have updated their LinkedIn pages to indicate that they have been employed for roles in yet-to-be announced stores.
Apple had planned to open its first physical store in India in 2021, but the first physical store in Mumbai was delayed owing to the COVID outbreak. It was delayed again in 2022 owing to pandemic difficulties, changing estimates for the store to open in Q1, 2023.
Since 2020, India has had access to an online Apple Store. However, due to manufacturing regulations, Apple has not yet opened a physical store; instead, physical retail was now being handled through a huge network of Apple Authorized Resellers throughout the nation.
