HYDERABAD: Millions of users are facing difficulties accessing Meta-owned major social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger as they were logged out.
Attempts to login again, however, proved futile.
As soon as the outage began, many users took to Elon Musk-owned “X” and posted screenshots showing the outage.
Several jokes and satires were cracked on Mark Zuckerberg and they posted several of his morphed photographs also.
Andy Stone, communications head of Meta, posted on “X” stating: “We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.”
The outage of Facebook began around 7.30 pm and the news spread and people began getting logged out of the platform .
Downdetector website disclosed that 70 percent of Instagram users faced issues with the app, 27 percent faced challenge with feed that was not refreshing, and 10 percent cent faced login issues.
Over 75 percent of users were logged out of the Facebook and are facing challenge to log in again.
