10-foot-long python causes panic in Huzurabad, rescued

KARIMNAGAR: A python that was spotted on the Sirsapalli Cross Roads in Huzurabad town of Karimnagar district has caused panic among the residents. After seeing the reptile sneaking into a nearby house, the locals called Abdul, a snake rescuer, to capture the nearly 10-foot-long python. The rescuer used his skills to get hold of the snake just as tried to slip into a pipeline of Mission Bhagiratha.
Meanwhile, the people, who gathered to see the giant snake, alleged that the forest officials had been ignoring their complaints about the incident. They expressed their anger over the way the forest officials responded when a news reporter asked about the incident. Later, Beat officer Suresh, who arrived late at the spot, enquired with locals about the python but left the spot without taking the snake.
Speaking to the media, snake catcher Abdul said that he was helping the local people by catching the snakes that entered residential areas for the last 20 years. He said that he made his living by working as a ladies' tailor in the town and catching snakes in the meanwhile in Huzurabad town. Abdul further said that some forest officials requested the government and district officials concerned to provide him with some work.
