12-year-old girl dies in Jagtial, fortnight after being bitten by stray dogs

JAGTIAL: After a fortnight of medical treatment at the hospital in Jagtial, a 12-year-old girl, who was attacked by a pack of stray dogs, succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.
According to reports, the deceased was identified as S Sahitya, a native of Atmakuru village in Gollapalli mandal in Jagtial district. A fortnight ago, a pack of stray dogs attacked 10 villagers and were hospitalised. Among them, Sahitya sustained severe injuries in the attack.
Since then, Sahitya underwent treatment in the hospital and succumbed after her health deteriorated on Saturday. Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on Atmakuru village following the death of Sahitya. The villagers had appealed to the officials to address the stray dog menace to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
