130 Maoists are from Telangana, 11 in central committee: DGP

BHADRADRI KOTHAGUDEM: Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy on Wednesday conducted a review with the officials of Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, Mahbubabad and Bhupalapalli districts on the movement of Maoistsin the state. Inspector General of Police, Intelligence, Prabhakar, was also present at the meeting.
Addressing the media after the review meeting, DGP Mahender Reddy said that there were many from Telangana among Maoists who are currently in hiding. "There are close to 130 members in the Maoist outfit who are Telugu and hail from Telangana. Of the 20 members in the Maoist Central Committee, 11 are from the state. I appeal to all of them to surrender themselves," said the DGP.
Stating that the Anti-Maoist Committee would work in the states of Telangana and Chhattisgarh to make Telangana a Maoist-free state, the DGP requested the family members of the Maoists to convince them to lay down their arms and join the mainstream of life.
