HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday explored the possibility of scrapping GO 46 on police recruitment in a High Power Committee meeting on police recruitment.
Revanth Reddy discussed measures that were being taken in view of the issue of recruitment letters for some jobs. He also sought the advice and suggestions of the Advocate General on the recruitment process.
Advocate-General and senior officials informed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy that there was no option but to issue appointment letters to selected candidates for 15,750 police jobs as per the old GO 46. However, the Chief Minister asked officials to consider canceling GO 46 for new notifications.
The meeting was attended by Minister D Sridhar Babu, Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy, Additional Advocate General Ranjinikanth Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Principal Secretary Seshadri, Intelligence Chief Shivadhar Reddy, TSLPRB Chairman Srinivasa Rao, MLAs Jaiveer Reddy and Makan Singh Tagore, and MLC Venkat.
