2 more days of heavy rains, thunderstorms across Telangana
Heavy rains in Hyderabad are under the influence of cyclonic circulation over East Central Bay of Bengal
HYDERABAD: The Meteorological Department on Thursday night said that the heavy rains that are lashing Hyderabad for the last two days are under the influence of cyclonic circulation over East Central Bay of Bengal extending to Southeast Bay of Bengal. They also added that these rains would continue for the next two days. Reportedly, the incessant rains are caused as a result of the cyclonic circulation turning into a low-pressure area in Bay of Bengal.
Owing to the current weather condition, the officials predicted that Jagityal, Peddapalli, Rajanna Siricilla, Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Karimnagar, Mancherial, Nizamabad and Nirmal districts would witness heavy rains. Moderate rainfall is expected in other parts of the state.
The continuous cyclonic circulation along Karnataka, South Telangana and North Coastal Andhra is the reason behind the torrential rains. The formation of a low-pressure area in the west-central of the Bay of Bengal has resulted in the continuous downpour of rains in Telangana. The Meteorological Department in Hyderabad has alerted the people of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in most parts of the state.
In the last 24 hours, heavy rains were witnessed in most parts of Hyderabad and other districts. The maximum rainfall of 7.5 cm was recorded in Kapra, whereas Armoor in the Nizamabad district reported a minimum rainfall of 6.2 cm.
