30,000 2BHKs distributed in Hyderabad, 70,000 houses to be given in 2 months: KTR
Challenging the opposition, KTR asked, "Can any of the other 27 States in India show proof of such wonderful double bedroom houses anywhere?"
HYDERABAD: Telangana It and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao reaffirmed Telangana Government's commitment to transparently handover double-bedroom houses and stated that the poor need not pay a single rupee as bribe to take possession. He added that in the next month-and-a-half, houses would be allocated to 70,,000 beneficiaries in Hyderabad.
On Thursday, KTR initiated the second phase of distribution of double bedroom houses in Dundigal in Qutbullapur constituency. Speaking on the occasion, he said, "This marks the culmination of the handover of 30,000 out of one lakh double bedroom houses constructed in Hyderabad." He assured that the remaining 70,000 houses would also be allocated to the underprivileged in the next month-and-a-half.
Speaking on the economic aspects, KTR mentioned, "To build 4,000 houses in Dundigal, Rs 10 lakh was spent for each house. The Government has invested Rs 9,718 crore so far for one lakh houses in Hyderabad, with the cost per house standing at Rs 10 lakh. Remarkably, the market value of all these houses ranges in between Rs 50,000-60,000 crore. This highlights the K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) Government's dedication to empowering the less fortunate."
KTR proudly stated that the Telangana Government had ensured a completely bribe-free allocation process for these houses. Sharing an interesting detail, KTR said, "In Jagadgirigutta division, both Congress president Kausalya and BJP leader Sunita from the area were among the beneficiaries in the first phase of double bedroom house distribution. It's a testament to our commitment to transparency."
Challenging the opposition, KTR asked, "Can any of the other 27 States in India show proof of such wonderful double bedroom houses anywhere? Have Congress or BJP governments provided houses with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one hall, and one kitchen in 560 square feet?"
Switching to the agricultural sector, KTR emphasised, "Despite the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, we waived off loans twice for farmers in rural areas. We are allocating 73,000 crore to farmers' accounts through the Rythu Bandhu scheme. Introducing a groundbreaking initiative like Dalit Bandhu, we have set an example for India in Dalit upliftment. Our State leads in industrialisation and attracting new industries. We are determined to transform Dundigal area as well."
