All set for Munugode by-election polling, 298 booths set up

MUNUGODE: Arrangements have been made at all 298 polling booths, established across Munugode for the by-elections, for 2,41,855 voters to exercise their right of casting a vote on November 3. Polling officials set up a distribution centre at Don Bosco Junior College at Chandur from where election workers collected the polling material and sent them to their allotted booths.

Munugode byelection poll would be held on Thursday from 7 am to 6pm. A total of 47 candidates, from parties as well as individuals, were nominated to contest in the elections.

The top three candidates from major political parties were Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy from the TRS, Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy from the BJP and Palvai Sravanthi from the Congress.

Three-tier security was arranged in the constituency ahead of the by-poll. Officials identified 105 high-tension areas and 3,366 Telangana police personnel were deployed. Central security forces were also deployed for additional security.

Distribution of physical voter IDs ended in the area and they were also made available to download online by the Election Commission.
