Another 'ego' killing over 'defiant' marriage
The Police had registered a missing case and during search operations they found his burnt body.
HYDERABAD: In another case of gruesome killing over a "defiant" marriage, a youth was reportedly murdered.
Narayan Reddy (25), a resident of KPHB colony road no. 1, who was reported to be missing since June 30, was found dead in Jinnaram town of Sangareddy district on Sunday.
The Police had registered a missing case and during search operations they found his burnt body.
The Police were suspecting the involvement of Narayana's in-laws in the murder. According to reports, the man was married to a girl against the will of the girl's family. Unhappy with the marriage, the girl's family had house-arrested her. However, Narayana and the girl were frequently contacting each other in the past month. Srinivas Reddy, a relative of the girl, threatened Narayana to end the marriage. However, the relationship could not be broken by them. Meanwhile, the body of Narayan Reddy was found.
The police suspect that it's a murder.
The police, by analysing the call data from the mobile phone of Narayana, zeroed in on Srinivas and questioned him. Srinivas admitted that he knew Narayana for quite some time. He, along with a few others, took Narayana along, bought liquor from a wine store in Khajaguda area and consumed it on June 29.
Later, they strangulated Narayana and doused his body with petrol and burnt it in Jinnaram forest, based on the confession statement. The police recovered the body of the deceased and sent it for an autopsy in Gandhi Hospital. Official statement from the police on this gruesome incident is yet to be released.
