HYDERABAD: AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi once again voiced strong criticism against the Congress government in Telangana regarding its ongoing demolition drive by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA).

Addressing a public gathering on Khilla Road in Nizamabad, Owaisi raised questions over the demolition of structures within the Full Tank Level (FTL) zones of lakes and water bodies.

Owaisi pointed out that certain government buildings were also constructed in FTL areas and questioned whether these too would be demolished. He specifically mentioned that the Necklace Road, GHMC office, Secretariat, and several notable ghats all fall within the FTL limits. He asked if the government intended to demolish these prominent structures as well. Owaisi's comments come in response to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent statement that the beautification of the Moosi River would proceed regardless of opposition.

Speaking at the event, Owaisi urged the authorities to ensure that the removal of illegal structures does not cause undue hardship to the poor. He reminded the audience that the Congress had previously made promises to support the welfare of the underprivileged, emphasizing that these commitments should not be forgotten. He expressed his support for development but insisted that such progress should not come at the expense of the poor.
