Autorickshaw drivers pour out woes with Bandi Sanjay; MP urges Congres govt to help them
Bandi Sanjay demanded protection of the interests of the autorickshaw drivers in the State whose livelihood was affected by the free bus service for women scheme introduced by the Congress Government.
KARIMNAGAR: BJP leader and MP Bandi Sanjay demanded protection of the interests of the autorickshaw drivers in the State whose livelihood was affected by the free bus service for women scheme introduced by the Congress Government.
He said this in Karimnagar on Sunday morning when he met the autorickshaw drivers at an autorickshaw stand near St John School in the town as part of his election campaign. After he had a cup of tea with them they poured their woes to the MP.

They told him that they were unable to repay the loans they had taken to purchase the three-wheelers. They brought to the notice of the MP that their business hit rock bottom as there would be no schools for three months because of the summer holidays. They said that while they had no objection if the womenfolk were given free rides in TSRTC buses, they pointed out that the Government must help them financially to offset the impact.
The autorickshaw drivers said that they were unable to pay the EMIs, vehicle insurance, and pay for fuel. They complained about harassment of traffic police also increased in recent months.
Bandi Sanjay while expressing solidarity with them said that he would take the issue to the notice of the State Government.
