Bandi Sanjay accuses KCR of cheating tribals over reservations, podu land deeds

HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana President Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) release a white paper on the initiatives taken by his government for the welfare of tribals in the last nine years.

Addressing the BJP booth committee members at Mulugu, Sanjay said that KCR had promised to implement 12 percent reservations for Scheduled Tribes before the Assembly elections but instead deliberately linked it to the Muslim reservations.

“It was a conspiracy to hoodwink the tribals. If the Chief Minister is sincere, he should promulgate a special ordinance and implement the 12 percent quota for the STs. Does he have the commitment to do so?” he asked.

Sanjay accused KCR of cheating the tribals once again by dodging the issue of providing title deeds for Podu lands. Even for the establishment of a Tribal University at Mulugu, the Chief Minister has not been allotting lands for years together, he claimed.

“Do we re-elect this Chief Minister who had spent crores of rupees to defeat an Adivasi woman Droupadi Murmu fielded by the BJP in the last Presidential elections? While as many as 12 STs were accommodated in the Narendra Modi cabinet at the Centre, KCR has inducted just one ST in his cabinet,” he remarked.

He alleged that KCR and his family, which used to live in a residential building at Nandinagar, had amassed huge wealth running into thousands of crores. The family ran liquor trade with hundreds of crores and parked thousands of crores of rupees in foreign countries like Dubai and Muscat, Sanjay claimed.

The BJP Telangana chief said that KCR had made Telangana a bankrupt state by indulging in borrowings of over Rs 5 lakh crore. “If he is voted to power again, he would borrow another Rs 5 lakh crore and turn the people of the state into beggars," he commented.

Sanjay further alleged that KCR’s BRS was ruling Telangana on the lines of West Bengal, terrorising the opposition leaders who question the atrocities of the KCR government. “Hundreds of BJP leaders were thrown behind the bars. Yet, we are not afraid of jails. Very soon, we are going to establish ‘Rama Rajya’ in Telangana and we shall drive away KCR and his family,” he asserted.

He said that KCR had sent his entire cabinet to Delhi to save the skin of his daughter Kavitha who was mired in the Delhi liquor scam and was trying to save his son K T Rama Rao from the TSPSC question paper leak scam, throwing the future of 30 lakh unemployed youth in jeopardy.

Sanjay asserted that the BJP was working towards converting the entire Hindu society into a strong vote bank. “We shall not tolerate anybody who poses a threat to the existence of Hindus and we shall strongly retaliate if there are any attacks on Hindus. We countered the challenge of AIMIM president Owaisi by holding the BJP meetings in the old city of Hyderabad,” he said.

Bandi Sanjay alleged that the BRS, the Congress and the Communists were colluding to defeat the BJP and prevent it from coming to power in the state and at the Centre. “The Congress high command itself is in favour of an alliance with the BRS, as those who got elected on the Congress ticket are getting sold out to the BRS,” he remarked.

Sanjay reiterated that the BJP would not have an alliance with any party. “We are like a lion which prefers to go it alone. We shall come to power with the blessings of the people,” he asserted.
