Bhatti presents a Rs 2.91 Lakh Cr full budget for Telaganna for 2024-25
Agriculture gets Rs 72,659 crore, Hyderabad's development got Rs 10,000 crore in Telangana's full budget 2024-25.
HYDERABAD: The Congress government unveiled its first full budget for Telangana for the financial year 2024-25 on Thursday.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu presented the budget in the Telangana Legislative Assembly. The budget emphasises on welfare, infrastructure development, and fiscal discipline and has a total expenditure of Rs. 2,91,159 crores.
The budget outlines a total revenue expenditure of Rs. 2,20,945 crores and a capital expenditure of Rs. 33,487 crores. In his speech, Bhatti said that the state government aims to tackle the financial challenges inherited from the previous government by focusing on financial discipline and debt reduction.
Bhatti informed that Telangana's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) for 2023-24 stood at Rs. 14,63,963 crores, marking an 11.9% increase from the previous year. However, the state's growth rate of 7.4% slightly lagged behind the national average of 7.6%. The budget underscores the need for stringent fiscal reforms to ensure economic stability, he said.
