CHOUTUPPAL: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president KTR at the party's preparatory meeting at Choutuppal for the Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduate MLC by-election has urged the graduate voters to consider the credentials of the candidates before choosing the MLC.

“Rakesh Reddy is the BRS candidate. He studied at BITS Pilani and won a gold medal. He worked in the United States for seven years. Later, he came to Telangana to serve the people. A farmer's son, an educated gold medallist is our candidate,” KTR said introducing the party candidate.

Who is the Congress candidate? The chief minister and the ministers met and decided on Teenmar Mallanna, KTR said. “He has 56 criminal cases against him. He spent 74 days in Chanchalguda jail. He did not go to jail for participating in the Telangana movement. Some cases are for morphing photos of mothers, and another case for threatening and harassing a family,” he said.

KTR added that Teenmar Mallanna was booked for putting phone numbers on social media without the permission of those persons. “If such a person wins, will he go to Revanth Reddy and ask questions? It is a gold medalist versus a blackmailer, BITS Pilani or Palli Batani,” KTR observed.

He said that a person like Rakesh Reddy in the Legislative Council would fight for the educated unemployed. "If the Congress candidate is defeated, they will be given a shock. It's a warning. It is like saying that if you don't keep your promises, you will be thrown out,” KTR pointed out.

"If the Congress loses this election, there will be no loss to the Government. But if the BRS wins, it will ask when the promises made by them will be implemented,” KTR said. In a democracy, the Government works only if the opposition is strong, he added.

KTR recalled that a few months ago he told voters that Congress was a fraud. “Remember the promises made by the Congress during the elections. What was the condition of farmers when KCR was in power? Many believed Revanth Reddy’s words and took new loans. It's been almost six months. Have loans been waived off?” he said.
