BJP disturbing peace in Telangana with violence: KTR
KTR visited the hospital where he met the 12 TRS leaders and activists, injured in the Palivela incident
HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Working President K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was unleashing a reign of terror with the intention of disturbing peace in Telangana. The premeditated attacks on the TRS activists in Palivela by the BJP men on the last day of Munugode campaigning were part of this design, he alleged.
KTR visited the hospital where he met the 12 TRS leaders and activists, injured in the Palivela incident.
Speaking to the media after the hospital visit, the TRS working president said: "For 14 years, Telangana formation protests were staged and in the past eight years too there were multiple elections. However, there was no bloodshed or violence witnessed. For the first time, yesterday, TRS activists were attacked by the BJP goons, that too in the presence of Etala Rajender. It was a preplanned attack. And now, the BJP is acting as if they are the victims. There are pictures and videos showing who was attacking who."
The Minister said that the TRS chose non-violence, not because they were incapable of fighting back, but because they did not believe in violence. He urged the BJP to put up a fight in a democratic and non-violent way and not stoop low to resort to attacks on political rivals.
He also said that the fake audio call of KCR, which was released on Tuesday, was the handiwork of the BJP. "Amit Shah and JP Nadda also cancelled their public meetings in Munugode. That is because they sensed their defeat here. Now they are attacking our TRS workers, faking an attack on them and defaming the Chief Minister just to gain sympathy from the Munugode public. But the people have self-respect and know who to vote for," said KTR.
