ASIFABAD: Chief Minister and TPCC President A Revanth Reddy alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in partnership with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), were conspiring to introduce the ideology of 'Manuvaad' in India.

Speaking at the Jana Jathara Sabha in Asifabad on Thursday, Revanth Reddy claimed that the BJP and RSS were working together to promote 'Manuvaad' with the ultimate goal of abolishing reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs). He pointed out that India had conducted a census regularly since 1881. However, he accused the Modi government of deliberately not conducting the 2021 census as part of its hidden agenda to abolish reservations. He explained that any attempt to eliminate reservations would require a two-thirds majority in Parliament and the approval of at least 50% of states. For the same reason, the BJP aimed to secure 400 seats in Parliament to achieve its objectives.

He said that the Congress party wants a caste-based survey, which would likely lead to increased caste-based reservations. He warned voters that supporting the BJP could lead to the abolition of reservations.

Revanth Reddy also claimed that he had been targeted for exposing the BJP's plan to alter the Constitution and abolish reservations, citing a case filed against him for these allegations. He noted that during Chandrashekhar Rao's regime, 200 cases had been registered against him, but he had never felt intimidated. He asserted that he would not be afraid of a case under Prime Minister Modi's regime either. Revanth Reddy remarked, "The Sultan of Delhi is trying to attack Telangana, but no one will bow down here."

Highlighting the achievements of the Congress Government in Telangana, Revanth Reddy said that five out of six guarantees had been fulfilled within the first 100 days of coming to power. He criticised the previous Chandrashekhar Rao government for neglecting the issue of "podu" lands, dismissing their approach as merely making empty promises. He also pointed out that the central cabinet lacked representation from the Gond tribal community, unlike the Congress party, which had nominated Atram Suguna, a woman from Adilabad, as its candidate for this seat. He said for the first time, a woman had been given a ticket in the region.

The Chief Minister promised to establish a university for the united Adilabad district.
