BJP to contest alone in Telangana in Lok Sabha elections, no truck with BRS, says Kishan Reddy
Kishan Reddy obliquely indicated that the BJP would have no alliance whatsoever even with Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party which contested nine seats in the recent elections with the BJP support.
HYDERABAD: BJP State president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy ruled out any alliance with the BRS in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. Addressing the district in-charges and senior leaders at the State headquarters in Hyderabad on Friday he gave a call to the cadre to get ready for a triangular fight in the State.
Kishan Reddy obliquely indicated that the BJP would have no alliance whatsoever even with Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party which contested nine seats in the recent elections with the BJP support. The fate of Jana Sena's alliance with the BJP in Andhra Pradesh thus hands fire.
He said that the BJP had improved its position in the State by garnering more seats in the recently concluded Assembly elections. “We have done well but we need to continue the tempo in the Parliament elections too. There were speculations about an alliance with the BRS but there will be no alliance with any political party," he said.
He informed the leaders that BJP national president JP Nadda would be visiting the State at the end of the month to prepare the party for the elections.
“We will contest in the elections all alone. There will be a triangular fight between the BRS, the BJP, and the Congress. We must try to win the maximum seats. For that we must strengthen ourselves from the grassroots level, “Kishan Reddy said.
Exuding confidence that the BJP had a fair chance of winning maximum MP seats in Telangana, Kishan Reddy said the results would startle even the surveys. “The ‘Viksit Bhart Sankalp Yatra’ will start in Telangana from Saturday. We must take the schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi into the people, he will form Government at the Centre for the third time,” he said adding that the newly elected BJP legislators would also tour all erstwhile districts of the State. He suggested the district leaders complete the appointment of all district-level committees on a war footing.
