HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has said that the BJP if voted to power in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections would bring a constitutional amendment scrapping reservations to SCs and STs.

“I am not saying it, the BJP MPs from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka are saying it,” he said. Addressing the Adilabad Parliamentary Constituency meeting with the BRS cadre on Tuesday, he said that the BJP had a nefarious plan to reduce seats in south India under delimitation in 2026.

“Under the family planning programme, southern States successfully reduced the population, but north Indian states followed no such rule. Now the BJP wants to increase MLA and MP seats commensurate to population,” KTR said. He said that only a leader like K Chandrashekar Rao could fight against the BJP at the national level.

Urging the cadre to work for the victory of the BRS candidate Atram Sakku, he reminded them that the BJP which had promised Adilabad to Armoor train service, airport to Adilabad, and reopening of the CCI cement factory failed to fulfill the promises it made.

Calling upon the cadre to meet every household in Adilabad, particularly the tribal communities, and explain to them how the Revanth Reddy’s Government in the State had cheated every single community with 420 fake promises. “A vote for the BRS will ensure that Revanth Reddy will work. Otherwise, even free buses will vanish,” KTR pointed out.

He said that Revanth Reddy was candid enough in saying that people could be gullible, but the voters failed to understand the ‘honest cheater’ in him. “BRS gave 1,60,283 Government jobs in ten years but we failed to explain this to the young men and women,” KTR said directing the cadre to spread the word among the voters.

KTR reminded them that Congress was responsible for the killing of tribals in firing in Indravelli. “Congress never apologized for their act. Moreover, Revanth Reddy dares to visit the place,” he said.

Calling upon the BRS workers to win back the hearts of the people and said that BRS must retrospect why the party had lost 8 out of the ten seats in the district in the recent Assembly elections. “While senior leaders might had plans to desert the party, grassroots workers are still with us,” KTR said.
