HYDERABAD: BRS Ministers in the State Legislative Council have taken objection to the comments made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy against the House in a talk show on a news channel. Three MLCs have a lodged a complaint individually with the chairman of the house Gutha Sukender Reddy.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) confirmed to NewsTap that the party was contemplating moving a privilege motion against the Chief Minister.

In a letter to the chairman of the Legislative council, MLC Prabhakar Rao said, "I wish to bring to your kind notice that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had passed brazen remarks by comparing the Legislative Council with “Irani Cafe” and Members of Legislative Council as “Real Estate Brokers".

"His irresponsible remarks have defaming a constitutional body and it amounts to breach of legislative privilege, further his remarks have caused insult, humiliation and mental agony to the members of the council and also caused disrepute to the upper house which is the constitutional body. Therefore I request you to kindly refer the matter to the privilege committee for necessary action," he wrote.

In another letter, MLC Vani Devi along with MLC Desapathi Srinivas noted that, "The tone and tenor of the Chief Minister, that too from a public platform calling the members of the elder's house, that is the Council, is reprehensible and deserves to be referred to the Ethics Committee.

"We are deeply disturbed by the Chief Minister's language, demand you get that interview clip, hear for yourself the conversation, and place it before the Ethics Committee for appropriate action," she said.
