BRS demands Bandi Sanjay’s disqualification, KTR calls him a lunatic
The entire battery of BRS leaders came down heavily on BJP Telangana chief Bandi Sanjay, claiming that he was exposed in his conspiracy to copy the 10th class question papers to defame the KCR Government
HYDERABAD: The entire battery of BRS leaders came down heavily on BJP Telangana chief Bandi Sanjay, claiming that he was completely exposed in his conspiracy to copy the 10th class question papers to defame the KCR Government in the State. Leading the onslaught, Telangana IT Minister and BRS Working President K T Rama Rao lamented that the BJP leaders were playing havoc with the lives of innocent students for the sake of their vested political interests.
In a sarcastic and incisive tweet in Telugu, KTR said: “When a lunatic has a stone in his hand, it poses danger only to the passers-by. But if the same lunatic has a political party in his hand, it endangers democracy. BJP leaders are playing with the lives and future of students and the unemployed by indulging in question paper leakage, all for some vested political gains.”
The BRS reactions followed Bandi Sanjay’s arrest late on Tuesday night in connection with the copying and circulation of 10th class final examination question papers in Tandur and Warangal in the last two days. The BJP Telangana chief was arrested after the police established that the kingpin of Tuesday’s Hindi question paper copying was his close aide and with suspicion of the Karimnagar MP’s alleged involvement in the conspiracy to defame the BRS government.
A host of BRS Ministers, MLAs, MPs and MLCs tore into Bandi Sanjay and the BJP for stooping so low as conspiring to leak question papers for their selfish politics. Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao, addressing the media, demanded an unconditional apology from Bandi Sanjay and the state BJP leaders to the Telangana society, now that their conspiracy had been thoroughly exposed. He claimed that Prashanth, the key accused in the copying and circulation of the 10th class Hindi question paper on Tuesday, was an active member of the BJP and, more importantly, a close follower of Bandi Sanjay. To back his claims, Harish Rao showed various pictures of Prashanth clicked with BJP leaders Bandi Sanjay, Dr K Laxman and Bandaru Dattatreya, who is currently the governor of Haryana.
He challenged the state BJP leaders to deny that Prashanth was neither linked to their party and Bandi Sanjay and that the question paper leak was not a conspiracy aimed at defaming the BRS Government of KCR. He appealed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to invoke Bandi Sanjay’s disqualification for his alleged involvement in the question paper leak scandal.
Several other BRS Ministers and leaders including Sabitha Indra Reddy and Jagadish Reddy, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Balka Suman demanded stringent action against Bandi Sanjay for trying to make innocent students the sacrificial lambs in his lust for filthy politics and demanded the invocation of Preventive Detention (PD) Act against the BJP leader. They claimed that the question paper leak plot was executed at the behest of BJP central leaders including Amit Shah, J P Nadda and party’s Telangana incharge Tarun Chugh.
Another Minister Allolla Indrakaran Reddy led a group of BRS activists who burned an effigy of Bandi Sanjay for his alleged complicity in the question paper leak case. Speaking to the media, he alleged that the BJP had unfolded the conspiracy to defame the BRS Government as the time for elections was fast approaching. Alleging that the Centre had been pursuing vendetta politics against Telangana, he claimed that the direct links of the BJP leaders had been thoroughly exposed. He expressed the apprehension that the series of question paper leaks was happening at the direction of the Centre.
