BRS leaders file complaint against Revanth Reddy for threatening KTR. Harish Rao
BRS leaders express outrage over Revanth Reddy's threats, demanding legal action for inciting violence.
HYDERABAD: BRS leaders have filed a police complaint against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Banjara Hills Police Station, accusing him of threatening to harm party leaders K Taraka Rama Rao and T Harish Rao.
The complaint was lodged following Revanth Reddy's recent statements, where he allegedly threatened to "crush" them using bulldozers.
The BRS leaders expressed serious concerns for the safety of their leaders, stating that such remarks incite violence. They urged the police to register a case against Revanth Reddy and take legal action for his inflammatory language.
Former SC, ST Commission Chairman Dr. Errolla Srinivas, who was part of the complaint, spoke to the media, criticising Reddy for acting like a "gang leader" rather than a chief minister. He accused Reddy of creating unrest out of frustration with his governance, and described his language as a threat to public peace.
Srinivas pointed out that Revanth Reddy's violent rhetoric was encouraging lower-level Congress workers to engage in acts of violence, noting recent attacks on BRS leaders KTR, Harish Rao, and Kaushik Reddy by Congress supporters. He demanded an immediate criminal case be filed against Reddy for his behavior.
The BRS leaders warned that if Revanth Reddy does not change his approach, he alone will be responsible for any resulting consequences. They also questioned the double standards in law enforcement, claiming that even minor social media posts by their workers are met with swift police action, while more serious threats go unchecked.
