HYDERABAD: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has said that his party was responsible for the birth of Telangana and that it would not compromise on protecting the interests of the State.

Speaking after taking oath as an MLA on Thursday, KCR said, "The BRS led the State on the path of progress, fulfilling the aspirations of the people in the last ten years. It will continue to protect the interests of the State of Telangana."

After taking oath as Gajwel MLA, KCR held a meeting with his party MLAs including working president KT Rama Rao, former Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Harish Rao, Srinivas Yadav, Prashant Reddy, Malla Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, KP Vivekananda, Danam Nagender and many other BRS legislators at his Nandi Nagar residence.

KCR advised the leaders about the strategies to be adopted to ensure victory in the upcoming Parliament elections. He also discussed the issues to be taken up for the Assembly budget session.

Earlier, after taking oath, party leaders and the public flocked to meet KCR outside the Assembly premises. This is the first time he greeted them after his knee surgery last month. He acknowledged his followers who clicked pictures with him and accepted their mementos.
