BRS will return to power in the 2028 elections, says KTR
KTR lauds KCR's resilience and discusses BRS's accomplishments and future plans at ABP Southern Rise Summit.
HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K Taraka Rama Rao praised BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao as a resilient and unwavering leader, describing him as “a man of steel nerves” who remains steadfast in any situation.
Speaking at the ABP Southern Rise Summit 2024 held in Hyderabad on Friday, KTR asserted that BRS would secure a return to power in the 2028 elections. He noted the party's achievements in the last decade, positioning Telangana as a leading state in development and welfare.
KTR highlighted the previous BRS government's focus on agriculture and welfare, saying BRS had implemented initiatives unprecedented in Indian history to support farmers. He pointed out a 73% salary increase for government employees under their leadership. Reaffirming BRS’s commitment to the people of Telangana, KTR expressed the party’s gratitude to the state’s residents, emphasising that BRS would continue to work in their best interests.
In his remarks, KTR also acknowledged the competitive nature of elections, viewing them as a test for any political party. He referred to the Congress party’s recent victory margin of just 1.8% as a slim one, vowing that BRS would counter any negative impact from Congress’s governance in the state. KTR criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for remaining silent on party defections in Telangana, expressing disappointment over what he described as a lack of accountability.
Additionally, KTR criticised the BJP, alleging that the party uses central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against non-cooperative political opponents. He condemned these practices as politically motivated and questioned the party's strategies in national politics.
