BRS winning in 95-105 seats, says KCR, to spend a day in Gajwel every month
He assured that he would ensure that every single village would receive drinking water. “Gajwel already has reservoirs that could store up to 65 TMC. So the voters of Gajwel must influence at least three other neighbouring Assembly constituencies to vote for the BRS,” KCR said
GAJWEL: “In my political life, I last elections only once. I was defeated intentionally with a margin of only six votes. But the people of Gajwel always stood by myself, they elected me twice,” Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) said addressing an extended BRS general body meeting of the Gajwel Assembly constituency in Gajwel on Friday.
Expressing confidence that the people of Gajwel will elect him one more in the ensuing elections, he said that the BRS will win 95-105 seats in the elections. “We are winning and winning with a thumping majority. We still have to do a lot for Gajwel and I assure you that I will stay here for one day every single month,” he said. Calling upon the people to vote for BRS the party chief said that one must vote for BRS if they want the present rate of development in the State to continue.
Sharing the pain of the oustees of Mallannasagar and Kondapochamma Sagar reservoirs built under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, the Chief Minister said that he also lost land in his inlaws place under the irrigation project. “The farmers elsewhere will be indebted to you, as because of the Kaleswhwaram project the groundwater levels in the State have increased. During the first phase we did well, and built projects but people like Konadaram and the Congress party created hurdles,” KCR pointed out.
He assured that he would ensure that every single village would receive drinking water. “Gajwel already has reservoirs that could store up to 65 TMC. So the voters of Gajwel must influence at least three other neighbouring Assembly constituencies to vote for the BRS,” KCR said. Declaring that he decided to contest from Kamareddy for a special reason, KCR assured Gajwel that he would undertake and complete all the projects about Gajwel during the third term,” the Chief Minister said.
He said that Mission Bhagiratha had ensured that every household in Gajwel received drinking water. There would be no need for a motor or a sump for that matter, he said adding that the real motivation for him to undertake Mission Bhagiratha came from Siddipet where he implemented a similar scheme as an MLA. “In those days womenfolk used to protest with empty pots, exodus to other States was rampant from Medak and Mahbubnagar,” he recalled. After several brainstorming sessions with the experts, it was decided that the stabilization of agriculture was the crux for Telangana’s development, KCR said.
He also talked about the impact of the pandemic on Telangana's revenue. “The State’s economy and development suffered and even I was infected with Covid 19. The media further added fuel to the situation. But the State must move on development should take place, farmers must produce,” he said encouraging farmers.
Recalling the, particularly before the formation of the State, KCR said that he was all alone when started the movement for Telangana 24 years ago. He said that oftentimes he felt helpless, but determined to bring a change in the lives of the people of Telangana. “When I was studying tenth standard the travel from here to Sangareddy used to take five to six hours. Manjeera River used to be bone dry and water could not be tapped even at 800 feet depth,” he said.
KCR said that the burning of transformers due to low voltage was a regular feature in those days and each farmer used to spend a fortune to get the transformers repaired. “I represented the problem of power slab to the then Chief Minister NT Rama Rao with a memorandum signed by 27 MLAs. But initially, he refused to change the slab.
Nara Chandrababu Naidu assured that he would not hike the power bill but later deceived the people of Telangana. “With that, I came out of TDP and took up the fight for separate Telangana,” KCR said.
Harish Rao sure of hattrick
Minister for Finance T Harish Rao called upon the voters of Gajwel to elect KCR for the third time. “You are going to create history by electing KCR again, with a high majority in the State,” he said. He said that Gajwel earned a special place in history by hosting the Mission Bhagiratha programme which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister at Komati Banda.
He said that several village panchayats passed unanimous resolutions to elect KCR for the third time. “So let's get down to brass tacks and work hard for the victory of the Chief Minister,” Harish Rao said.
