HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has assured his cadre in Telangana that he would revive the State unit and wished that both the States develop even though the ruling parties have different political thoughts.

Chandrababu Naidu addressed a meeting of party workers at the NTR Bhavan here on Sunday. “The development of Hyderabad that I initiated is continued by the BRS Government for 10 years, and now Congress Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is continuing the development of Telangana,” he said.

Thanking the Telugu voters for reposing faith in him, he recalled that Telangana TDP leaders indirectly contributed to the victory of the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance in AP by reaching out in time and canvassing for alliance candidates.

He expressed hope that he could bring back the lost sheen of TDP in Telangana. “AP and Telangana are my two eyes. I have come here to meet my friends. I'm excited to see your love. The Telangana TDP has been working hard for the success of AP elections. Thanks to all of them,” Chandrababu said.

He said that the TDP founder NTR brought in many administrative reforms such as the abolition of the Patel and Patwari system that ushered in rural development in Telangana and he was a leader of the masses.

" Except for the party leaders, no other functionaries have left the party in Telangana. As long as there are Telugu people, the TDP flag will fly high,” he said.

He said that he turned any crisis into an opportunity and came back to power. “I cannot forget the initiative shown by the TDP cadres when I was put in jail. There have been protests against my arrest in many countries of the world. I cannot forget the meeting held in Gachibowli at that time. I was proud to see on TV the protests in support of me in Hyderabad,” Naidu recalled.

Calling for unity of Telugu people he said Telugu language and national interests should be protected. “TDP aims to develop Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. If there is a dispute between the two states, the losses are high. Problems will be solved with cooperation. The Congress and the BJP are in a direct contest in Telangana. Though ideologically different, we will work together for the benefit of Telugu people. The damage caused by the YCP rule is more than the division, "he said.

This was Chandrababu Naidu's first official visit to Hyderabad after becoming the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time. He was welcomed by party leaders and workers who organised a huge rally.
