Chief Minister-designate Revanth Reddy called back from Delhi Airport;meets Manikrao Thakre
Revanth Reddy who met AICC bigwigs on Tuesday and had almost got decks cleared for the swearing-in ceremony, started for the airport to return to Hyderabad at around 3.35 pm on Wednesday.
HYDERABAD: TPCC president and chief minister-in-waiting A Revanth Reddy was called back from the Delhi airport on Wednesday afternoon by the Congress high command just as he was boarding the special flight to Hyderabad. The swearing-in ceremony of Revanth Reddy as the Chief Minister of Telangana is slated for Thursday.
Revanth Reddy who met AICC bigwigs on Tuesday and had almost got decks cleared for the swearing-in ceremony, started for the airport to return to Hyderabad at around 3.35 pm on Wednesday. However, in a dramatic turn of events, he was called back by Telangana in-charge Manikrao Thakre at 4.11 who asked him to meet him at the Maharashtra Sadan.
While Revanth Reddy rushed back and met Thakre at the said venue, confusion mounted among Congress ranks in the state. While sources close to Revanth Reddy said that Revanth returned to personally invite Thakre for the swearing-in ceremony, speculation is rife regarding the nature of the developments taking place in the national capital.
