HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) visited Yashoda Hospital at Secunderabad where Medak MP and Dubbaka BRS Assembly candidate Kotha Prabhakar underwent four-hour-long critical surgery for the stab wounds he received in a murder attempt during his door-to-door campaign in Surampally village on Monday.

Earlier, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao condemned the attack on Medak MP and said that such attacks on political opponents have no place in a democracy. He asked the BRS party cadre to be attentive and said that he would not tolerate attacks on the party cadre. He called T Harish Rao who was with the MP in the hospital and enquired about his health condition.

KTR condemns the attempt to physical elimination

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao strongly condemned the murder attempt on BRS MP by Congress Goons. “Desperate Congress now resorting to physical elimination attempts of our leaders in Telangana. This was of course to be expected with a 3rd rate Criminal being made by the TPCC president Violence has no place in democratic society and I hope the Election Commission of India will take serious action in this regard,” he said taking to X.

T Harish Rao in a statement said that the BRS considered the incident very seriously and condemned the dastardly attack on the Medak MP. He said that the party would protect its leader at any cost. He said that the Government would investigate and punish the culprits responsible for the knife attack on Kotha Prabhakar Reddy.

Governor Tamilisai seeks stringent action

In a statement, Governor Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan wished the Medak MP a speedy recovery and said that she was shocked to learn about the attack during an election campaign in Surampalli of Doulthabad Mandal.

“Violence has no place in democracy, and such incidents are a threat to the democratic process. I direct the Director General of Police to take stringent measures to investigate and ensure the safety of contesting candidates and campaigners during the election period. It is essential to maintain a peaceful and secure environment for free and fair elections,” she said.

Revanth, Raghunandan demand an impartial investigation

TPCC President Revanth Reddy while condemning the attack said that the Congress never believed in violence. He demanded an impartial and in-depth investigation into the incident.

Dubbaka MLA and BJP candidate M Raghunandan Rao also condemned the incident and said that he had nothing to do with the incident. He said that he was a good friend and he would soon visit Prabhakar Reddy. He said that the attacker was a Congress activist. He demanded the Siddipet Commissioner of Police to impartially investigate the attack.
