HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy unveiling his Government’s flagship programme ‘Prajapalana’ to be organised from December 28 to January 6, 2024, wanted the District Collectors and Superintendents of Police to win the hearts of the people first.

He announced that the ‘Prajapalana’ would be held in all Villages and municipal wards from 9 am to 5 pm with a break at 2pm.

Addressing the first Collectors and SPs conference at the conference hall on the seventh floor of the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat on Sunday reminded them that the people of Telangana would not tolerate any undue hindrance to their freedom.

“You might belong to any State, but now you are a part of Telangana. Try to understand the local people and their psyche. Implement the law with a human touch because the DNA of the people here is different,” he cautioned the officers. He said that Telangana differed from other States of the Country because the people loved self-rule and hated bossism.

He reminded them that the people of Telangana fought for a separate State for years and may sacrificed their precious lives for statehood. “Please don’t reject an application for the sake of rejection. Consider it with positivity,” Revanth Reddy pointed out.

Recognising their role in implementing the decisions taken at the Secretariat to the grassroots, the Chief Minister wanted the officials to first find out the real beneficiary who was waiting for the benefit sitting at the last eagerly waiting for his or her turn.

Calling upon the Collectors and SPs he said that the Government was keen on effectively implementing the six-guarantees and said that the Government would not tolerate any laxity when it came to the implementation of welfare schemes.

“We are friendly so far you are effective. Try to understand the mindset of the local people,” the CM told the officers. Asking them to emulate the ‘people’s IAS’ officer SR Sankaran, the CM said that he used to go through every single file from morning to night to benefit the poorest of the poor.

Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Cabinet Ministers, Chief Secretary Santi Kumari, and DGP Ravi Gupta were among the others who attended the conference.
