Congress complains to Election Commission alleging misuse of Dharani Portal by BRS
Bhatti also revealed that the BRS Government was attempting to divert Rythu Bandhu funds to settle pending bills of contractors.
HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders of rapidly registering thousands of acres of assigned lands around Hyderabad in the names of their proxies through the Dharani portal. He claimed that this was a manoeuvre as the BRS Government expected to lose power after December 3.
Bhatti cautioned the revenue department against facilitating such registrations, threatening severe consequences for officials complying with the directives of the BRS leaders.
Speaking at a press conference in Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Bhatti claimed that the BRS leaders were plotting to acquire valuable lands worth lakhs of crores before their tenure concluded on December 3.
Bhatti advised revenue officials not to follow the instructions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Ministers KT Rama Rao, and T Harish Rao to register assigned lands in the names of proxies for BRS leaders. He warned that officials who did so would face repercussions once the Congress came to power after December 3.
Bhatti also revealed that the BRS Government was attempting to divert Rythu Bandhu funds to settle pending bills of contractors. He alleged that funds obtained from contractors during elections were now being used to favour them. He cautioned the finance department against deciding to clear contractor bills before December 3.
Bhatti along with Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy and senior leaders Uttam Kumar Reddy and Madhu Yashki submitted a petition in this regard to State Election Commissioner Vikas Raj. They urged the election officials to avoid irregularities during the power transition. He asserted that a Congress Government would investigate and take stringent action against officials found culpable.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and LB Nagar MLA candidate Madhu Yashki Goud made it clear that there was no question of
sparing the family of K Chandrashekar Rao. He alleged that KCR and his family were trying to divert hundreds of crores of rupees hidden in Pragati Bhavan to his Erravalli farm house.
Madhu Yashki expressed confidence that the Congress would get a comfortable majority of 80 seats out of the 119-seat Assembly. He added that even senior bureaucrats who cooperated with the BRS Government for illegal activities would be investigated.
