HYDERABAD: The Telangana government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has come under fire for allegedly detaining former Digital Director and Telangana activist Dileep Konatham without any legal justification.

Konatham has been outspoken on social media about the government's failures for some time, which appears to have made him a target of the current administration.

For the past six months, Konatham has reportedly been facing harassment from the police, who previously filed a case against him. The High Court had dismissed the charges and issued clear instructions not to arrest him. Despite this, Konatham was allegedly taken from his home without any reason given by the police.

According to sources, police claimed they were acting under direct orders from the Chief Minister's Office and refused to provide further details. No FIR or formal explanation has been provided for his detention so far.

This action has provoked strong reactions from BRS leaders. They condemned the police's behaviour, calling it an abuse of power. BRS leaders demanded Dilip Konatham's immediate release and questioned how such acts of police excess could take place in the name of governance.

Dileep Konatham was released late on Thursday night.
