Congress Government in Telangana protecting BRS in Kaleshwaram issue, says PM Narendra Modi

ADILABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, said that the Congress Government in Telangana was trying to protect the earlier BRS Government by sitting on files related to the corruption of the BRS in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).
Addressing a public meeting, Narendra Modi said that the Congress and the BRS were two sides of the same coin. “All the family-ruled parties have the same history, ‘jhoot’ and ‘loot’. By changing the name from the TRS to the BRS, the true nature of the party did not change. Now the Congress replaced the BRS in Telangana, but the same policy continues. The Congress is saving the BRS by withholding crucial files with a motto that they looted the people then, and now it is our turn,” the PM said.
Calling upon the people to vote for the BJP in the ensuing elections, Narendra Modi said that the aim was to ensure that the BJP crossed the 400-mark (in Lok Sabha seat) on its own this time. “Today I have launched several programmes worth crores of rupees. A few of those who are too lethargic to move say that this is a political public meeting. Elections have not even been announced, but this is only a celebration of development,” he said.

Enlisting the works and programmes he either launched or laid foundation for during the past fortnight, he said that he unveiled or launched IITs, IIIT, IIM, AIIS, five AIMS, storage scheme for farmers, computerisation of 18,000 coop societies, Sindri fertiliser unit, cable-supported bridge, 2,000 railway projects, 1.5 lakh crore worth oil natural gas projects, and a global textile conclave, to make India a developed country.
“Yesterday, I sat with ministers and the top team of 125 people. That was not an election plan, but a plan to make India a developed nation. So far, 3,000 meetings have been conducted on this plan. In all, 1,200 universities and 11 lakh youth were involved in this process,” he said. He added that no other Government ever gave so much importance to tribals in its development plan.
He said that political parties with a feudalistic mindset would never initiate steps like the BJP did. He said that Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University, the turmeric board, and the mega-textile park in Telangana were some of the Government’s initiatives for the weaker sections of Telangana.
Criticising his political opponents, particularly the INDIA block for calling him a loner, he said that he was not alone and the whole country was his family. “Now, one day they will say that I am unfit to rule the country as I have never been to jail. My life is an open book. When I work late at night and people write to me not to work so hard, that is pure love. I left home with this dream that I would live for my country, and spend every minute for its people. I don’t have a personal dream, your dreams are mine. I will spend my life for you and your children. That is why people treat me as their family. 140 crore people are my family,” Modi said.
He then thanked the artisans of Telangana for their invaluable gifts for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He said that the golden door and other gold articles gifted by the people of Telangana would be remembered by the people of the country forever. “The country is indebted to Telangana. Blessings on Telangana,” Narendra Modi said.
