KCR in Dammapet

KOTHAGUDEM: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has said that the Congress cheated the people of Telangana by delaying the formation of a separate State. Speaking at a public meeting at Dammapet on Monday, KCR said, "Over 15 lakh people migrated from Mahabubnagar to Mumbai and other places for livelihood. Not only farmers from Mahabubnagar but also from other districts like Medak, Nalgonda, etc, went in search of greener pastures to other States."

The Chief Minister then shared how the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government had been implementing the developmental schemes in the State and how they were sketching out strategies for the progress of Telangana. "Being a farmer, I know the problems of farmers and the importance of having electricity. So we are giving electricity round the clock," he said.

KCR then asserted that the Congress leaders had no answer when he questioned what they would do if the Dharani portal was abolished and said, "Congress is making all baseless allegations on Dharani portal. They don't have any sympathy towards farmers."

Lashing out against the State Congress president Revanth Reddy, KCR said, "He is speaking without any knowledge and I don't know what sort of intelligence he has to make such irrelevant comments on the Dharani portal.

"We have faced numerous problems during the Congress Government's regime. More than me, you know how the situation of the State was when Congress was in power," said KCR.

"No Government thought of the welfare of Lambadas and girijans. We gave podu lands and thandas were turned into gram panchayats. Today, 47 gudems were made gram panchayats in Ashwaraopet constituency. Reservation has been increased to 10 per cent as a result, employment opportunities have risen," he added.

Saying that that there was a lot of difference in the pattern of conducting elections in developed and developing countries, KCR said, "After 15 years of protests, Congress announced Telangana State. There won't be any huge meetings at the time of elections in developed countries and leaders will pass the message to the public through TV. But in our country, a few leaders make false promises and political mud-slinging continues."

KCR asked the public not to cast their vote blindly and added, "With all your blessings we have implemented many developmental schemes in the State for the last 10 years and we will further come up with new schemes for the welfare of people if we come to power for the third time."
