HYDERABAD: The Telangana Congress started shifting its possible winning horses to the Taj Krishan Hotel in Hyderabad as the trends started indicating a neck-to-neck fight with the ruling BRS.
The AICC troubleshooter and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and ten State ministers arrived in Hyderabad and are supervising the camping arrangements at the hotel where the party booked over 50 rooms to protect their candidates from poaching. The candidates have been brought to the hotel in private luxury buses.
Speaking to media at the hotel Karnataka Minister K.H. Muniyappa said that no Congress MLA will defect and are all loyal to the party. AICC in-charge for Telangana, Manikrao Thakare also expressed confidence that the Congress will bag more than 70 seats in the 119-member Telangana Assembly.
While the trends indicate a close fight with the BRS, and the numbers becoming crucial by the hour, the AICC has appointed Shivakumar, Deepa Das Munshi, Dr. Ajoy Kumar, K.J. George, and K. Muraleedharan as observers to coordinate the meeting of Congress Legislature Party in Telangana in case Congress reaches the magic figure
