HYDERABAD: Congress workers attacked the car of BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao in Musheerabad on Tuesday while he was on his way to visit Musi flood victims in Golnaka.

The incident occurred as KTR attempted to reach the affected areas to express his solidarity with those impacted by the recent demolitions along the Musi River.

According to sources, Congress workers intercepted KTR’s vehicle in Musheerabad, attempting to physically attack it. Security personnel and BRS supporters intervened to prevent the assault, but the Congress protestors escalated their actions, with some even climbing onto the car and acting aggressively. Ultimately, BRS supporters managed to push back the attackers, allowing KTR to proceed to Tulasiram Nagar in Amberpet, where he met with the affected residents.

During his visit, KTR criticised the Congress party for allegedly exploiting the hardships of the Musi victims. He claimed that the Congress slogan was about exploiting both Musi and Delhi, stating, "The bulldozer might come to your homes, but stand strong to resist." He also took a jab at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, saying, "Not even Revanth or his ancestors can stop us from helping the people."

KTR’s visit was intended to provide support to the victims of ongoing demolitions in the Musi River area, where many residents have been left displaced as part of the government’s beautification project.
