HYDERABAD: CPM Telangana state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram has announced that the party will be contesting the upcoming elections alone. He said that the decision was taken as the BRS and the Congress failed to uphold the spirit of alliance and deceiving the CPM.

Veerabhadram stated that the CPM had supported the BRS in previous elections to defeat the BJP and its anti-people and religious politics. However, Veerabhadram claimed that the BRS rejected the alliance for the upcoming Assembly elections fearing backlash from the BJP.

The CPM state secretary also criticised the Congress party and alleged that it overlooked the CPM and conspired to eliminate their presence in Nalgonda and Khammam, where the CPM held a significant strength.

According to Veerabhadram, the Congress made promises to the CPM regarding seat allocations for Palair, Wyra, and Suryapet but failed to fulfill them.

The CPM leader said that to maintain a friendly relationship with the CPI, the CPM has decided not to contest in Kothagudem. Veerabhadram predicted that the BJP would win around 5 or 6 seats and mentioned that the CPM would support either the Congress or the BRS, depending on their strength, to defeat the BJP in those segments.
