HYDERABAD: Senior IPS officer CV Anand embarked on a new chapter in his career, taking over as the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (DG ACB). In a heartfelt tweet on Saturday, Anand acknowledged the exciting challenge ahead while reflecting on his previous role as Hyderabad police commissioner which he described as "a lovely experience and great team work."

Looking back on his two-year tenure at the helm of Hyderabad police, Anand highlighted several key achievements.

"The tenure of about two years as Hyderabad commissioner was very satisfying professionally as law and order was maintained with almost zero incidents. Communal amity was maintained despite challenges and all festival related processions were tackled with planning and preparation, crimes of all types were contained and some sensational cyber crime frauds were detected. The burgeoning traffic required special measures and I focused on it through Operation ROPE (Removal of Obstructive Parking and Encroachments) and other engineering measures," Anand tweeted.

He also emphasized his proactive stance against narcotics, intensifying the HNEW programme and ultimately contributing to the establishment of a dedicated Narcotics Control Bureau by the State Government.

Beyond these tangible achievements, Anand reflected on the transformative reorganisation of the Hyderabad City Police. Under his guidance, 31 new police stations, 12 new divisions, and 3 new zones were created, bolstering law enforcement and traffic management capabilities. Additionally, specialised wings dedicated to cybercrime, women's safety, IT, and social media further modernised the police force.

Concluding his message, Anand expressed gratitude to his team and said, "In essence, it was a lovely experience and great team work by a huge posse of officers. Time to move on and thank you all for encouraging me all through."
