HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Cyber Crime police sent notices to three people who allegedly were making social media posts defaming the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Party on Wednesday. The notices were sent after a midnight raid on Congress party's election strategist Sunil Kanugolu's office on Tuesday.

Joint Commissioner of Police Gajarao Bhupal said that three accused, Shri Pratap, Shashank and Ishaan Sharma were detained and they said that they were working under Sunil Kanugolu. Sunil Kanugolu was still not under police custody and they were on the lookout for him, he said.

Cyberabad police said they registered five cases against social media posts made from that office.

"Political criticism is healthy in a democracy, but without even considering that the opposite person is a woman, or their position, making rude and degrading posts can't be defined as criticism. They tried to maintain all secrecy about their identity while doing this, making it all the more suspicious. With the technology that we have, we were able to track down the criminals," the Joint Commissioner said.

They issued 41 crpc notices to the three people suspected to be the makers of the post. Reportedly, they were operating from secret offices named 'Telangana Galam' and 'Bharatiya yuvakudu' in Madhapur.
