HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains across Telangana due to the impact of Cyclone Michuang.
Mulugu, Khammam, and Bhadradri Kothagudem are expected to receive extremely heavy rains. Other districts such as Siddipet, Jangaon, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, and Nagarkurnool are expected to experience heavy rainfall, while Warangal, Suryapet, Mahbubabad, and Hanamkonda are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rains.
Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Nirmal, Vikarabad, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Kamareddy, and Mancherial are expected to receive light rain.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, with occasionally intense spells, are very likely in Hyderabad, with a cloudy sky. Mist/Hazy conditions are likely to prevail during morning hours.

The Severe Cyclonic Storm Michaung (pronounced Migjaum) over West Central Bay of Bengal along and off south Andhra Pradesh coast moved northwards at a speed of 10 kmph during the previous 06 hours and was centred at 11:30 am on December 5, 2023 over the same region near latitude 15.45°N and longitude 80.25°E, about 20 km east of Ongole, 50 km south-southwest of Bapatla, 70 km north-nor
During the next two hours, the system is expected to move nearly northwards and cross the south Andhra Pradesh coast near Bapatla as a Severe Cyclonic Storm with maximum sustained wind speeds of 90-100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph.
