Cyclone Remal: Seven persons died in rain-related incidents in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Under the impact of Cyclone Remal heavy rains coupled with gusty winds affected normal life in parts of Telangana. While two pillion riders lost their life when a tree fell on them near Shamirpet, four daily wage earners died when an under-construction wall fell on them in Nagarkurnool on Sunday. A 12-year-old boy Laxman died in Telakapalli also of Nagaurkurnool when a bolt of lightning hit him.

According to reports, two persons Ramreddy and Dhanunjay who were riding on a motorcycle from Keesara to Shamirpet under rain and winds, came under a falling tree near Shamirpet. While Ramreddy died on the spot, Dhanunjay died on the way to the hospital.

In another incident in Nagarkurnool, four construction workers died and two others were injured when the wall of the poultry farm they were constructing in Indragal village of Tadur mandal fell on them in heavy rain.

Trees fell on the Ieeza Road in Gadwal obstructing regular traffic. Heavy rainfall was reported from KT Doddi, Dharoor, and Gadwal in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district
