Danam Nagender lashes out at HYDRA Commissioner over encroachment case
Khairatabad MLA accuses Hyderabad Commissioner of filing a case against him due to discomfort with his new position, vows to complain to the CM.
HYDERABAD: Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender launched a scathing attack on Hyderabad Disaster Relief and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA).
HYDRA Commissioner AV Ranganath, alleging that the case filed against him in connection with the Nandagiri Hills incident is a result of the Commissioner's discomfort with his new position.
Addressing the media, a visibly agitated Nagender refuted the allegations and asserted his right to visit the area as a public representative. He claimed that he visited Guru Brahma Nagar in Nandagiri Hills, under the Jubilee Hills division, to address the concerns of residents facing difficulties due to encroachments.
"AV Ranganath has deliberately filed this case against me. It seems he is not comfortable with his new role. I will personally complain about this to the Chief Minister," Nagender declared.
The MLA questioned the authority of officials to prevent him from addressing public issues and emphasized his duty to serve his constituents. He further stated that he had informed Ranganath about the case filed against him and threatened to issue privilege notices against the officials involved.
"Officials come and go, but I am answerable to the people who elected me. I have faced cases before for standing up against the government. This is nothing new," Nagender asserted.
The controversy erupted when a GHMC Enforcement official, Papaiah, filed a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police alleging that MLA Danam Nagender had instigated encroachers to demolish a park wall in his presence on June 10. The complaint prompted the police to register a case against Nagender and others involved.
